A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder in the deaths of his mother and sister who were found killed in Burke, Virginia. News4’s Paul Wagner reports.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder several days after police say he shot and killed his mother and sister inside his mother's home in Burke, Virginia.

Bradley Lister was arrested Monday night in Baltimore, Maryland, nearly one week after Fairfax County police say he killed 67-year-old Susan Lister and 41-year-old Amber Curry at a home in the 6000 block of Eagle Landing Road.

Officers found the two women's bodies after a family member called police Friday morning concerned about their welfare.

Detectives believe Lister murdered them last Tuesday and fled the area sometime between then and Wednesday, police said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Lister took several firearms from the house with him that are still unaccounted for, according to police, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said.

Police said they do not yet know the motive for the killings.

Davis said the double murder is the third incident this year in the county in which a son has killed a family member. He said while crime is down overall in Fairfax County, there is an increase in homicides.
