A man was found shot to death inside a crashed car in Glenarden Monday morning, Prince George's County police said.
He has been identified as Rupert Everton Samuels, 38, of Northwest D.C.
Investigators say Samuels was driving east on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when someone started shooting at his BMW. The bullet-riddled vehicle crossed over the other lanes of traffic before leaving the roadway.
Prince George's County police were called to nearby Reed Street at about 2:30 a.m. for a reported car accident. When they arrived, they found Samuels suffering from gunshot woulds inside the car.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives don't believe the crime was a random act, but are still working to identify the suspect and motive.
Delonte Brown works in the area and says he heard multiple shots.
