Man Found Dead in Burning Taxi Cab

Death ruled a homicide; two suspects arrested.

The death of a man found in a burning taxi cab in northeast D.C. has been ruled a homicide, and two suspects have been arrested, according to D.C. police.

On Wednesday, units responding to a report of a vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Brentwood Parkway NE found a burning taxi cab that had run off a driveway and into a fence, police said. A man was found dead inside the cab. His body was sent for an autopsy, said police.

The autopsy performed on the driver, identified by his coworkers as Mohammed Qadeer, showed that he had been shot in the head, police said.

On Friday, police arrested two 17-year-olds from Maryland. Both are facing felony murder charges in the shooting death.
