A man could spend life in prison following his conviction in the death of a man who survived two kidney transplants and open heart surgery.
When 26-year-old Jonathan Harris was killed during a home invasion in Montgomery County, things had finally been looking up for him. Music and rapping were his callings.
Patricia Harris said her son performed at open mikes around the area.
That led to him meeting and dating Samantha Parker.
Prosecutors believe their breakup up factored in Jonathan Harris’ death in December 2014.
Revenge and robbery were the motives when Parker broke into his home with Dion Sobotker and Latoya Morgan, prosecutors said. Harris was beaten and suffocated.
Detectives found a game console registered to the victim in Sobotker's home. Harris’ blood was on Sobotker’s shoes. And video showed Sobotker using Harris’ credit card at a fast food drive-through.

At trial, Sobotker denied knowing Harris and claimed Parker was the attacker.
Parker died of brain cancer before she could stand trial.
Sobotker was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery and conspiracy. Sentencing was scheduled for May.
Morgan pleaded guilty as an accomplice after the fact. She's due in court Friday.
