Police have arrested and charged a 60-year-old man for stabbing a woman to death Saturday evening near a McDonald's restaurant in Northeast D.C.
Tamiya White was found with a stab wound to the neck about in the 1900 block of 9th Street NE near Gallaudet University.
Medics took White to a hospital, where she died.
On Thursday, police arrested Robert Wilson Dean Jr. and charged him with first-degree murder while armed.
White's family set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral and burial expenses. She was a mother of three, the page says.
On the door of White’s apartment, friends and family hung balloons, cards and a stuffed animal in her memory.
Surveillance video at the McDonald's and the surrounding area will be part of the investigation, police said.
