Harrisonburg Police Kill Raging Bull

When a bull runs through the streets of Pamplona, Spain, it's a celebrated event.

When it happens in Harrisonburg, Va., it's a far different story.

Police had to shoot a Black Angus that had escaped from a Harrisonburg livestock business, according to the Daily News-Record.  The animal ran through a city park, an apartment complex and a residential neighborhood, charging at pedestrians and vehicles along the way.

The rampage lasted about an hour until authorities cornered the beast in a backyard.

When it became clear the animal could not be controlled, the owner told police to kill it.

Police said the bull was foaming at the mouth and appeared to be "in a deranged state."
