The FBI said they are aware of threats to five elementary schools in Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware on Monday morning.
Glenkirk Elementary School, in Prince William County, Virginia, and Ferry Farm Elementary School, in Stafford County, Virginia, were cleared after threats were issued against each school. Students at Glenkirk were transported to Marsteller Middle School, while Ferry Farm students were taken to Dixon Smith Middle School.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office cleared the Ferry Farm location.
In Maryland, Lexington Park Elementary School, in St. Mary’s County, received a bomb threat. The school was locked down while bomb-sniffing K-9s were brought inside to clear the school.
Nothing was discovered inside the school, and K-9s are patrolling outside, searching for any potential dangers.
In Carroll County, Maryland, a threatening phone call was received, and Carroll County sheriff’s deputies responded. No threat to the safety of students or staff was found, and the call appears to have been a hoax.
The FBI told News4 it was too early to say they are investigating, but they are aware of the threats. The FBI also mentioned there was a school threat in Delaware on Monday morning.
