A dog in Prince William County is back on dry land after wandering onto an icy lake and getting stuck.
The dog walked onto the ice on Lake Montclair in Montclair, Virginia, Tuesday. The dog was about 20 yards from shore when a firefighter pulled him from the icy water, The Prince William Department of Fire and Rescue says.
"Come on, come on. There you go!" a man recording a video of the rescue can be heard saying.
This is the third time fire crews in the region have performed a water rescue this week.
In Loudoun County, Virginia, officials said someone drove an SUV on the icy Potomac River Monday. The ice gave way, and the vehicle became stuck near the shoreline. Fortunately, everyone inside the SUV was able to get out, and the vehicle was towed from the water.
Hours later, three people were rescued after their car got stuck in several feet of icy water in Boyds, Maryland, Montgomery County fire officials say.

Despite the unseasonably cold temperatures in the past few weeks, ice that has formed on waterway may not be thick enough for skating or walking.
Officials caution against attempting to enter water or go on ice to rescue a person or animal. Instead, they said people should call 911 and attempt to extend an object, like a tree branch or rope, and never attempt to enter the water.
