A "suspicious" man has tried to gain access to airports in the Washington, D.C. area and across the country, and the Transportation Security Administration is warning officials to be on the lookout for him.
Ahmed Olasunkahmi Salau -- also known as Ahmed Saluh, Ahmed Salan and Martinez Davon Well -- has tried for at least a year to access restricted areas and aircraft in six states plus D.C., the TSA said in a warning issued Thursday.
He was last caught on Monday, at College Park Airport in Prince George's County, Maryland. He tried to gain access onto airport property to board a charter flight, the TSA says.
He has repeatedly "presented himself as either a passenger, employee or crewmember with the intent to gain unauthorized access to aircraft and/or facilities," the TSA said in a statement. Also, he has called airports to try to gather passenger and aircraft data, according to the TSA.
No information was released immediately on what authorities believe he is trying to do.
He is accused of trying to board private jets at Washington Dulles International Airport on July 2 and July 5. Three days later, he allegedly called Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and said he had a jet there. He was arrested at that airport July 11.
Anyone with information on Salau is asked to call 877-456-8722 or 703-563-3240.
