A dump truck crash on the Beltway caused traffic to back up during the evening rush.
The truck overturned and spilled dirt on the Outer Loop between Allentown Road and Route 4 in Prince George’s County about 2:45 p.m.
Only one lane of traffic was getting by for more than an hour.
The truck was towed from the scene about 4:45 p.m.
All lanes of the Outer Loop are open.
Traffic also backed up on the Inner Loop as drivers appeared to be slowing down to look.
No injuries have been reported.
