One man is dead and another injured after a Cadillac collided with a work truck in Wheaton, Maryland.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a car accident located on Georgia Avenue, north of Hathaway Drive.
According to a preliminary investigation, the 2014 Cadillac CTS rear-ended the 2004 GMC C4500 truck so forcefully that the Cadillac traveled into the southbound lanes, where it stopped. Officers tried to revive 72-year-old Charles Gibson, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The truck driver, 33-year-old Emelvin Eluid Soto Alvarez, was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
