Dentist Accused of Prescribing Meds for Sex With Minor

A Maryland dentist is accused of prescribing oxycodone in exchange for sexual contact with a minor.

Vaqar Ahmad Choundry, 42, owns Hagerstown Dental Center located on East Antietam Street in Hagerstown, Md.

According to an indictment announced Thursday, the Washington County Narcotics Task Force received complaints of Choundry writing "prescriptions for pain medications without medical justification" back in May.

Choundry told a confidential source this month he would like to "have sex with a prepubescent girl," according to court documents. He then asked the same person to find him a teen girl to have sex with, and gave the source a prescription for 15 percocet pills Sept. 6.

The source arranged a meeting between Choundry and a fictional girl in Hagerstown Sept. 12, where police arrested Choundry on various charges.

He could face up to 20 years behind bars for drug charges and a minimum of 10 years for enticing a minor.
