DC police train community safety ambassadors to lighten load on officers

The Metropolitan Police Department is launching a new team of crime fighters called community safety ambassadors who won’t have guns or badges but may be the first to respond to 911 calls, depending on the severity of the problem. News4’s Mark Segraves spoke to one of the ambassadors and explains how the program will free up dozens of sworn officers for more serious issues.
