A new study from the University of Wisconsin finds crickets may be more beneficial for your gut and overall health than traditional protein sources.
According to dietitian Erin Gussler, eating crickets is not even that interesting to the rest of the world.
"In Asia they eat bugs. In South Africa they eat bugs, and in South America they eat bugs," said Gussler.
It turns out the bugs have benefits.
"One of the interesting things is that crickets are one of our only protein sources, animal protein sources that contains fiber. They are actually really high in iron, they are really high in calcium, really high in B-12," said Gussler.
