Authorities say three people were injured in an explosion at a Northern Virginia shopping center.
Falls church spokeswoman Susan Finarelli said in an email that firefighters from Arlington and Fairfax counties went to the Eden Center about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday after the explosion was reported. She said firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the front and rear entrances of the center.
Small fires were extinguished, she says.
Three people were taken to local hospitals with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
Finarelli says the cause of the explosion is not known and the Falls Church Fire Marshal is investigating.
According to its website, the Eden Center is an Asian mall with about 120 stores. Finarelli says the mall portion of the center will be closed until Thursday.
