Bus Aide Accused of Assaulting Autistic Boy

A former Culpeper County school employee -- one of two charged with assaulting a 5-year-old autistic boy on a school bus -- is due in court Wednesday for arraignment.

A hearing for Betty Turner, 56, is will be arraigned in Culpeper Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Turner, a former bus aid, along with and former teacher's aide Linda Rastall, 50, were charged last month with assault and battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Rastall's arraignment hasn't been scheduled yet.

Authorities say the child was crying because a toy had been taken away from him as he rode the bus home from school Feb. 20. Rastall and Turner are accused of physically and verbally assaulting the boy in an attempt to control him.
