Police say a Bowie man has been charged with arson after setting several fires inside of his home last week.
According to Prince George's County officials, firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 16300 block of Pewter Lane at approximately 8:30 p.m. June 5. Police were already on the scene of the same home due to a domestic situation.
After a fire at the top floor of the home was put out as well as another one in the rear, police arrested 40-year-old Elijah K. Shahid with first-degree arson, malicious burning and threat of arson.
Shahid is behind bars on a $15,000 bond.
