D.C. police are investigating after the discovery of a body in the Anacostia River underneath the Benning Road Bridge Friday morning.
The decedent has not been identified but is described as a 20-30-year-old black man, police said.
The Harbor Unit recovered the body in the 2600 block of Benning Road NE.
The Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, police said.
The investigation is continuing.
