A body was found in Alexandria and police were investigating Tuesday morning.
The body was found near N. Morgan Street and N. Beauregard Street, city police said. The site is about a half-mile west of I-395.
Police confirmed the body was found in Holmes Run, a stream that runs through Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria. No information was released on the person's age or gender.
A death investigation is underway.
The body was found about a half-mile from where officers shot and wounded a burglary suspect on Friday.
In 2017, the bodies of a 14-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy were found buried in Holmes Run Park. Eleven alleged members of the MS-13 gang were charged with their kidnappings and killings.
