An Outside Look at Jeff Bezos' $23M DC Mansion Under Renovation
Jeff Bezos’ mansion in the Kalorama neighborhood of northwest Washington has been under renovation since he bought it for $23 million in 2016. The mansion, which used to be the old Textile Museum, is actually two homes that will be connected by a walkway. The Pope Home – designed by John Russell Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial – will serve as the residence. The Wood House, which will be Bezos’ entertaining headquarters, includes a ballroom, grand staircase and garden room. The 11-bedroom, 25-bathroom estate is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
