Amtrak service is suspended between New York and Philadelphia again Thursday, and customers have expressed frustration at the lack of information they were getting from the railway company Wednesday.
Train schedules for Thursday are modified with fewer trains than normal in some routes, the company said in a statement Wednesday evening, but there is no service between New York and Philadelphia.
Amtrak says service along the entire Northeast Corridor is being affected by the investigation into Tuesday night's deadly derailment near Philadelphia.
Customers at Washington's Union Station said they waited hours for trains and they received little information from Amtrak officials about when they would depart.
"We've been upstairs to the buses and back down and no one knows what's going on," said Laurie Bublick, who said she spent the night at Union Station after her train was canceled.
"It's really aggravating," Bublick said.
Dana Mosley said she's been sitting around Union Station for hours.
"We've been walking back and forth, we don't know anything about what's going on," she said Wednesday. "It's just hard."
Amtrak said it is offering "modified service" with less frequent trains between Washington and Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, and New York and Boston. New Jersey Transit is honoring Amtrak tickets between New York and Trenton, Amtrak said.

The company said it will issue ticket refunds in some cases for canceled trains.
Amtrak said it is supporting the National Transportation Safety Board as the agency continues to investigate the accident.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and injuries to Amtrak passengers and employees as a result of the Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 188 derailment north of Philadelphia on Tuesday evening," Amtrak said in a statement.
