Three school-age children who were kidnapped from a bus stop in the western part of Virginia Thursday morning were found safe hours later in Alabama, police said.
The children were taken by their "estranged" biological mother, Shanice Chante Davison, police said. Davison was headed toward Evergreen, Alabama, where she lives, police said.
A caller told the sheriff's office Thursday morning that their three children were waiting for a bus outside the Bobby’s Way apartment complex in Fishersville, Virginia, when a black four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra, pulled up and took the children.

Troopers tracked down Davison and the children on Interstate 459 in Jefferson County, Alabama, just before 5 p.m. Thursday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.
All three children were recovered safely.
Officers arrested Davison and she is in jail in Jefferson County.
