AAA: Gas Prices Drop in Maryland, DC

Motorists in Maryland are paying 5 cents less at the pump when compared with a week ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Friday in a weekly report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Maryland was $3.48, down from $3.53 a week ago.

The price of gas in the state is the same as the national average.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $3.46 in Baltimore, $3.59 in Cumberland, $3.45 in Hagerstown and $3.36 in Salisbury.

Motorists in the region are paying 14 cents less than at this time last year when the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.62 per gallon.

Gas prices in the D.C. metro area are down 5 cents from a week ago.

In its weekly report released Sunday, AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.46, down from $3.51 a week ago. The price is 15 cents lower than this time a year ago, when the price was $3.61.

The price of gas in the region is 2 cents below the national average of $3.48.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the District of Columbia alone is $3.67, down four cents from a week ago.
