A group of high school students in Kensington, Maryland, are working to create a yearbook to memorialize high school shooting victims from across the country.
The five students from Temple Emanuel's upper school in Montgomery County say the effort is intended to remember students who were killed by gun violence and urge federal legislators to pass gun violence prevention legislation
"I feel angry because I think that every person every student, deserves to feel safe," Eden Shane, one of the students leading the creative effort, said. "Because its not right. Because there are solutions to this problem."
The students told News4 that this "Yearbook of the Fallen" is for those students who never made it to their senior prom, who never walked during graduation and who never got to write "have a great summer" on the inside pages of their own yearbooks.
They hope to distribute 535 copies of the yearbook to members of Congress to pressure them to pass gun control policy.
"If the federal government steps in saying, 'Hey, this isn't okay,' then it'll drastically decrease the amount of gun violence," Ethan Shroff, another student, said.
