A 24-year-old man accused of shooting his grandfather to death at a mobile home in Stafford County, Virginia, made the 911 call himself, authorities say.
Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office responded to a mobile home park on Clearview Lane near the Aquia Harbor area of the county about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
They found 78-year-old Thomas Edward Ennis Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, the sheriff's office said.
Ennis Jr.'s grandson, Brandon Lee Cohen, was at the mobile home when deputies arrived.
He was charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Cohen is in custody at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
The sheriff's office did not provide a motive in the killing.
