A death investigation is underway Sunday morning after a body was found near a shopping center in Reston overnight. News4’s Derrick Ward reports.
Police are investigating a "suspicious" death after a body was found near a shopping center in Reston early Sunday morning.
Fairfax County Police said that officers initially responded about 1:45 a.m. to the area between Hunters Woods Plaza and Breton Court to investigate reported gunshots.
They found 24-year-old Jose Lorenzo Guillen Mejia with trauma to his upper body while searching the wooded trails, police said Monday.
Mejia died at the scene.
Police said Tuesday officers were still actively canvassing the area for clues.
