7 Shot, 3 Dead After Violent Night in D.C.

No arrests have been made

UPDATE: Police said they have no information of a death on Wahler Place SE as reported earlier.


Three people are dead and police are investigating after a string of violence crossed the District Wednesday night.  Seven people were shot and three were stabbed in what appear to be unrelated crimes.

Police said two people armed with handguns shot two victims just before 9:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Brentwood Road NE. Both of those victims are recovering from their injuries.

Then at about 9:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Quincy Street NW one man was shot and killed while he was in his backyard.  Police had a lookout for two people last seen in a nearby alley going toward Seventh Street.

Just before 10 p.m. in the 900 block of Wahler Place SE two more people were shot. Police have not released any suspect information in that case.

Then, just before midnight in the 700 block of Yuma Street SE, there was a double murder.  Two victims were shot and killed. Police identified them as Reginald Williams Jr., of the 300 block of Adams Street NE, and Joshua Ruffin, of the 600 block of Condon Terrace SE.  There is no suspect information in that case either.

There were also some stabbings last night.  A man was stabbed in the neck at 18th and Benning Road NE.  He's now in critical condition. 

Two men were stabbed in the 1400 block of Trinidad Street NE.  Both reportedly ran to a nearby fire station where they received treatment.  They are now recovering from their injuries.  A person has been arrested in connection with the stabbings.

Police have not connected the incidents, no arrests have been made and there is very little suspect information.
