Three suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting that left three people seriously injured behind an elementary school in Germantown, Maryland, Saturday night, authorities say.
Montgomery County fire officials said the shooting happened at Gunners Branch Park behind Clopper Mill Elementary School on Cinnamon Drive. The investigation determined that there was a cookout at the park, which the suspects and the victims all attended.
Jaheim Ronnell Hicks, 17, has been charged as an adult with three counts of attempted second-degree murder. Sequan Markell Ashton,19, and Henry Emanuel Tamba, 20, were charged with being an accessory after the fact to first-degree assault.
Hicks admitted to his involvement in an interview with police and said the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute.
Two men and a woman, all 19 years old, were all shot and transported to the hospital, officials said. The two men are in stable condition and the woman is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said they saw Hicks shoot the victims three times and all three suspects run off into the woods following the shooting, police say.
When officers responded they found all three men in the woods. They said they recovered a fanny pack in the area with a handgun.
