“It’s kind of one of those things you get desensitized to,” said the manager of a nearby business that closed before the shooting happened. “I know within the last two or three weeks alone, there’s probably been, like, three or four shootings in this area.”
“We’re doing everything we can to keep the streets safe and we really need the public’s help,” Asst. Chief Ramey Kyle said.
The business has been in the area for two years, and the manager said he feels safe and wants his customers to feel safe.
“So as far as change, I have no idea what we could implement or do, because we’re always too late,” he said.
The victims were shot on Valentine’s Day just hours after a 13-hour barricade with a suspect who shot three officers.
“It's definitely been a day. You know, it started with us around seven o'clock this morning the incident over the Southeast, with the officers being shot,” Kyle said.
No employees of the carryout were injured.
