One person has died and another has critical injuries after a serious collision on Connecticut Avenue in Kensington, Maryland, Friday evening, police and fire officials said.
The crash involving two cars happened near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Franklin Street, Montgomery County Fire and EMS spokesman Pete Piringer said.
Video from Chopper4 showed a black car completely off the road and on the sidewalk next to a power pole. Its windows were smashed and pieces of the car were strewn across the road.
A white car in the middle of the road also had major damage.
Piringer said the vehicles struck a fire hydrant and a power pole.
Police have not released the names of the people in the car. Investigators are still working to determine a cause for the crash.
