16-year-old dead, teen critical from overdose in vehicle in Fairfax County

Two teenagers overdosed Sunday evening in Fairfax County, Virginia.

A 16-year-old has died and another teenager is in critical condition after overdosing on opioids Sunday evening in Fairfax County, Virginia, police say.

Officers found the two teens unconscious and “foaming at the mouth” in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 5700 block of Columbia Pike at about 7:20 p.m., according to a release from Fairfax County police. The parking lot is near Bailey's Crossroads.

The officers performed CPR and administered multiple doses of Narcan, the overdose-reversal drug.

Rescue crews took them to a hospital, where one of the teenagers died and the other was in critical condition.

The identity of the teen who died was not released. Police did not say how old the second teen is.
