If you've ever admired the Hope Diamond and other gems at the Smithsonian, you may be able to buy them.
Well, almost.
The Smithsonian has teamed up with the TV shopping channel QVC to produce a new line of jewelry.
The line will be inspired by the massive gem and mineral collection at the Museum of Natural History.
It will include earrings, rings, bracelets, pins and more. This is the first time the Smithsonian has reached an agreement with a retailer to sell high end items based on the museum's collection, according to the museum's Web site.
Carol LeBlanc, director of consumer products for the Smithsonian, said the partnership with QVC will not only create fashionable jewelry, it will also educate the public about the Smithsonian and its gems.
The collection is scheduled to make its debut this fall.
