Troubled R&B couple Rihanna and Chris Brown have recorded a duet together, the song's producer confirmed - only a month after Brown allegedly beat Rihanna to a pulp.
The singers completed the duet earlier this week, producer Polow da Don's publicist, Laura Wright, confirmed to CNN. Polow da Don previously recorded tracks with acts like the Pussycat Dolls and Usher.
"My heart goes out to both Chris and Rihanna for what has happened in the past," Polow said in a statement.
The song is about "growing stronger and being stronger in a relationship," a source told Us magazine Wednesday.
"The song expresses the emotions that both Chris and Rihanna are feeling at the moment - facing challenges and overcoming the ups and downs of a relationship in which you become stronger," the source said.
The singers were reportedly "very playful" during the recording session and enjoyed their time working together on the song.
Brown and Rihanna spent the better part of last week holed up in P.Diddy's Miami mansion as they worked on their relationship.
Brown was charged with two felonies for allegedly battering Rihanna Feb. 8, leaving her with a split lip and a black eye. The fight is rumored to have begun when Brown received a suggestive text message from manager Tina Davis, 40. Davis has vehemently denied sending the sexy text.
