Six Flags Over Texas reopened Sunday, one day after the theme park shut down because of a power outage that left thrill seekers helplessly stranded on rides.
The theme park lost power around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon -- in some cases leaving visitors dangling mid-ride.
Park patron Audrey Gonzalez said her ride came to an abrupt halt and when she and her friends looked around they noticed all the other rides had stopped too.
Another adrenaline junkie said she got stuck on the parachute ride and her friends used a cell phone to record her dangling about three feet off the ground.
"I was there for about 30 minutes," Bianca Luciano said.
A backup power system kicked in just after the outage, allowing the park to unload the rides and shut them down. The rides were shut down until main power was restored about two and a half hours later.
The cause of the outage is unknown.
Luciano said some visitors said they were never going to return to Six Flags, but the mid-air mishap wasn't going to keep her away.
"We're going to go back," she said.
Six Flags did not give refunds to park visitors, but patrons who asked got complimentary tickets to return on another day.
