Slow moving train was hauling coal

CHEVERLY, Md. -- A pickup truck rammed into a train in Prince George's County Tuesday afternoon.

After the truck ran into the train near 52nd and Lawrence streets, it was pushed several hundred feet down the tracks, police said. The slow moving CSX train was not impacted, but the pickup truck sustained front end damage.

The train was on its way to deliver coal to the Mirant power plant in southern Prince George's County.

Rail traffic was stopped on the tracks for police to investigate.
