A teenager is in custody accused of trying to rob an armored truck in Northeast.
The suspect tried to grab a bag of money from the truck at about 1:15 p.m. Monday outside a Shoe City store on Brentwood Road, D.C. police said. The suspect was shot in the leg by a guard.
The teen ran about 50 yards from the store before collapsing, police said.
He was conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital.
