WASHINGTON (AP) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in northeast Washington.
The Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement that officers were called Friday around 9:20 p.m. to the 900 block of 12th Street NE for a report of gunshots.
Police say when they arrived they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the man who was shot as 53-year-old Eric Linnair Wright of Washington. Police did not release any information about suspects or what may have led to the shooting.
