WASHINGTON — After problems with Metro’s online store, the agency is now selling special Inauguration Day passes in person at selected CVS Pharmacies.
The SmarTrip store crashed Friday, which Metro had said was the final day to order the discounted cards and be sure they would arrive before Inauguration Day.
Now, the $10 card, which includes the unlimited pass for Inauguration Day, will be sold while the cards last at 50 CVS stores across the D.C. region.
Metro suggests calling the store to be sure the cards are still available there.
Riders who attempt to buy a SmarTrip card at a station on Inauguration Day or the day after may face long lines or other issues.
