Congress Seeks Contractors for High-Speed DC-NYC Rail

Congress will announce that the federal government is seeking contractors for a $30 billion to $40 billion high-speed rail line between D.C. and New York, the Washington Times reported Monday afternoon.

Amtrak's current line is shared with freight and commuter trains, which increases the length of trips.

This is the first in a series of high-speed rail lines the government is considering funding across the country.
