A tractor-trailer slammed into a condo building in Woodbridge, Virginia, after a crash involving several vehicles left four people hurt, authorities say. No one inside the building was reported to have been injured.

The tractor-trailer ran off the road and crashed into the Moorings of Occoquan Condominiums in the 12700 block of Gordon Boulevard (VA-123) on Monday morning, Prince William County’s fire department said.

“All of a sudden, I hear a really loud crash. Like multiple crashes,” said Madison Parker, who lives nearby.

The huge truck hit several cars and pinned at least one against the building.

Chopper4 video shows wreckage from a violent crash. A pickup truck flipped onto its side near the front end of a tractor-trailer and the corner of the brick building. A crushed car, van and SUV could be seen nearby, plus trees that appeared to have been knocked down.

Five people were evaluated for injuries and four were taken to hospitals, the fire department said. Several cars were totaled.

“He ended up hitting like five cars. You can see one getting loaded up right now that’s smashed to bits,” Parker said.

Resident was out of town as tractor-trailer destroyed his home

One condo unit on the ground floor is unsafe to occupy. The resident was out of town, his girlfriend told News4.

“He called me around 8:45. He was like, ‘Hey, you need to go to my house.’ I was like, ‘OK, what’s going on?’ He was like, ‘Well, my neighbor just said there’s a car in my window,’” Shay Mullins told News4.

Mullins said she’s grateful her boyfriend wasn’t home.

“I've been praying and thankful, because his bed was right by the window,” she said.

Fire department officials initially said they expected multiple residents to be displaced. In update, they said just one home with one resident is now unsafe.

Fire and rescue crews worked to shore up the building. The building received moderate damage and will be evaluated, officials said.

Gordon Boulevard was closed in both directions between I-95 and Admiral Drive, Prince William County police said before 9 a.m. The roadway was still shut down near noon, and officials said to expect an extended closure. All lanes were back open by 4 p.m.

No information was immediately released on why the tractor-trailer driver may have crashed. An investigation is underway.
