Treetop Adventures Headed to Williamsburg

As you soar above the treetops, just be glad that this particular adrenaline booster doesn't require any actual jumping out of planes. Instead, you're controlling your journey through the sky during a GoApe adventure.

Currently, the only location of Go Ape is in Rockville, Md., but a new location is slated to open in early April at Freedom Park (5537 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, Va.), a 600-acre forested retreat with miles of hiking and biking trails.

The courses feature zip-lines, Tarzan swings, rope ladders, bridges and trapezes. The new Williamsburg location will have a 600-foot zipline, the first of its kind in the U.S.

A 30-minute training session should tell you everything you need to know before you get strapped into your harness. The course takes two to three hours to complete, but you can take as long as you want to explore. The park recommends booking your session in advance online. Admission is $55 for adults and $35 for kids.
