A dance piece exploring the unreliability of memories. An apocalypse story featuring cats. Oh, and then there's a hybrid burlesque/stand-up comedy show, a cross-gender comic Macbeth, and an audience-interactive movement piece on security, privacy and ownership in the Internet age.
Sounds like the Capital Fringe Festival is back.
With more than 120 performances, the annual festival (July 9-26 and July 29-Aug. 2) puts nontraditional theater, comedy, puppetry, dance and more in the spotlight.
The performances are spread out at multiple venues around D.C. and in the festival's new headquarters at the Logan Fringe Arts Space (1358 Florida Ave. NE).
In addition to a newly added "extension week" at the end of July, Capital Fringe is also premiering "Fringe Late Night Cabaret," featuring live music, comedy, improv and dance.The free cabaret will happen Wednesdays through Sundays from 9:30 pm to 1 a.m. throughout the festival at the Fringe headquarters.

Through July 9, tickets are $5. After July 10, admission goes up to $7. Multi-show passes are available. You can purchase tickets by calling 866-811-4111, buying them online, or visiting the box office at Fringe HQ or at the performance's venue.
