Walter Morris is a reporter specializing in breaking news for News4 at 11 p.m.
Morris grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, graduating from Churchill High School before moving to Los Angeles, California, to attend Loyola Marymount University. He earned a Master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School during which time he spent one quarter reporting for the program’s Washington, D.C., bureau.
His career started at TV3 in Winchester, Virginia, then made stops at WSVN in Miami, Florida, KSWB in San Diego, California and the Black News Channel as a Los Angeles-based correspondent.
Morris received the 2009 White House Correspondents Association Scholar award and has earned four EMMY Awards during his career.
Morris lives in Washington, D.C., but makes frequent visits to Montgomery County to visit his family.
