JP Finlay is the leading Commanders insider in Washington, having covered the team ever since the rocket ship that was Robert Griffin III's rookie season in 2012, through the many off-the-field controversies and the sale of the team from Dan Snyder to Josh Harris.
A news breaker and sharp analyst, Finlay also hosts the Beltway Football podcast and is one half of the radio program BMitch & Finlay on 106.7 the Fan.
A D.C. native with degrees from the University of Maryland and Georgetown University, Finlay comes by his passion for DMV sports naturally. Although football is the focus, JP can talk Nationals, Wizards, Capitals and all the local colleges with anybody who's interested.
Finlay lives in Bethesda with his wife, their two young daughters and their rescue pup, Banks. A bad but devoted golfer, Finlay enjoys the Delaware and North Carolina beaches and skiing in winter. Favorite meal? Steak and potatoes.
One fun fact: Way back in May 1999, Hillary Clinton spoke at JP's high school graduation, and during the ceremony, he hugged the then-first lady; the photo made it into The Washington Post.
