Using Maryland’s Bay Bridge is getting more expensive. It’s one of several tolls going up across the state starting in July.
Drivers using cash will pay $6 to reach Maryland’s Eastern Shore. That’s up $2 from the current price.
E-ZPass rates are going up from $3.60 to $5.40. The Commuter Discount Plan is going from $1 to $2.10.
The higher rates were approved on Sept. 22, 2011, by the Maryland Transportation Authority.
Driving across the Baltimore Harbor will cost you $4 starting July 1, if you pay with cash. That’s up $1 E-ZPass rates are going up to $3.60 from $2.70.
The higher tolls are designed to bring in $90 million over the next year to help improve aging bridges, tunnels and highways.
