A new Ann Taylor concept store is set to open downtown next month, with a runway in the center that will showcase the season’s hottest finds, at least for those looking for dressy work clothes. Or gold heels. Ooh, gold heels!
OK, back on point: Inspired by what it's calling a contemporary home influence, the new store will have washed maple hardwood floors, crystal chandeliers and modern furniture. An array of fashion books, jewelry and framed pictures will be distributed throughout to add a chic touch.
Drastic changes will be made to the design of the dressing rooms, which feature backlit mirrors, plush carpeting, floral wall coverings and luxury ottomans.
Adjacent to the fitting rooms, a private lounge area has a mounted touch screen monitor where customers can access the store's website to buy website-exclusive items or those out of stock in the store.
The grand opening is Friday, Nov. 11 at 600 13th St. N.W., with a public shopping event following on Nov. 17.
