Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Forty of the world’s best skateboarders have invaded D.C. for the opening of a new skate park.
The Maloof Cup Park opens this weekend to host the Maloof Money Cup skate competition.
The park was built in conjunction with Events D.C. and the Maloof brothers, who own the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.
The 15,000 square-foot park is on the RFK Stadium Festival grounds, and has all the amenities skaters expect: ramps, stairs, halfpipes, and plenty of room to try the latest tricks.
The Maloof Money Cup has the skaters competing to win $160,000. There is also live music and other activities for skaters and spectators alike.
Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday for the skate park. For more information, go to the Maloof Money Cup’s website.
