Pants-Less Runners to Invade Downtown

Cupid's Undie Run returns Saturday

Cupid's Undie Run is back, bigger than ever -- and sold out. But if you're wondering why people are running around in their skivvies this weekend, well, that's why.

The charity event, now in its third year, benefits the Children's Tumor Foundation and has shared its lack of modesty to five other cities this year.

In the District, shivering participants will jog a 1.5-mile course around the U.S. Capitol on Feb. 11, beginning and ending at the Pour House (319 Pennsylvania Ave. NE). Doors open at noon if you'd like to encourage (or oogle) the runners, and the race begins at 2 p.m.

Runners who raise the most money will win prizes such as Kindles, romantic getaways... or, of course, custom undies. And robes. Because they will probably want them after their ordeal.

Participants have raised more than $50,000 so far, without dropping a single article of clothing. Yet.
