The Kennedy family is seeking revenge against New York Gov. David Paterson for his treatment of Caroline Kennedy during her aborted bid for the senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton, the New York Post reported.
"The governor's going to pay for this," a prominent Democrat told the New York Post. "Ted is furious. The family is furious. The Kennedys are now against the governor."
Paterson allegedly implored Kennedy not to suddenly withdrawal from contention, New York magazine reported.
"You can't withdraw. You've got to stay in this thing, and I'll just not pick you," Paterson allegedly told her during a phone conversation Wednesday.
The governor's office is also being blamed for unflattering leaks about Kennedy's taxes, her nanny and her marriage, sources told the Post.
