First a gubernatorial candidate lets slip with the F-word, live on the radio. Now we hear that President Barack Obama, supreme leader of the free world, has called Kanye West a jack---.
Not that we weren't already thinking that of Kanye after his outburst at the Video Music Awards Sunday, when he upstaged adorable, 19-year-old Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video.
It's just that... Well, Obama is The President.
When Bob McDonnell, the Republican gubernatorial candidate in Virginia, dropped the F-bomb on air, it wasn't great. But he's just a candidate. And besides, that was just a slip of the tongue...
We blame Terry Moran. And Twitter too.
The "Nightline" co-anchor's the one who "set the Twitter-sphere all aflutter" last night when he tapped out:
"Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential."
Politics
Political news from the U.S. Capitol, White House and around Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia
How did this happen? As an ABC spokesperson explained to POLITICO:
"In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."
The tweet's since been deleted, but as with all things cached on the Internet, Moran's remark is still out there.
As for the president, who some might argue is really to blame for all this hoo-ha, there's been nary a peep.
And what about the jack--- who started all this ruckus in the first place? When even the president's dissin' you, enough said.
